Local Support for Asset-Based Development
We are grateful for the active participation from the community members in our Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) process. It is inspiring to witness neighbours, associations, and local institutions coming together to reflect on what already exists within the community — and how these strengths can be the foundation for long-term development.
Rather than starting with what’s missing, the ABCD approach invites us to explore what we already have. Through a series of workshops and collaborative sessions, local residents generously shared their skills, ideas, knowledge, and networks. These contributions are not only valuable — they are vital.
The process has strong foundation for the partnerships we hope to grow throughout the life of the Ilikwa Solar project. Together, we are not only generating renewable power — we are helping power new possibilities rooted in local capability, connection, and leadership.
As we continue this journey, we remain committed to walking alongside the community, listening and learning, and supporting initiatives that emerge from within. Because when development begins with what’s strong, not what’s wrong, the possibilities are endless.
